“In the Summer of 1867, Alliston’s Grove church was torn down and the forest pine sills, beams, studding, rafters and everything else that could be salvaged, was hauled to this place and the new (Bethany) was started. This new church, this one room, (the auditorium) was finished in 1868 and was dedicated to the community. We do not know how many members it had at first, since the records were burned when clerk lost his house by fire in 1933.”
