Fairview

The Fairview community was organized around the Fairview School, formerly Mitchem School. The school also served as a community center and was used for Sunday worship services and Sunday School. Although never incorporated, the community was very close and was defined more by the families that lived there than by geographical boundaries. The agricultural area supported a sawmill and two cotton gins, but never developed a main commercial center.
