Revolutionary War Pension Certificate for Elisha Jarvis

This Certificate of Pension states that Elisha Jarvis served as a private for 6 months with Colonel Mordock in Maryland during the Revolutionary War. Although Mr. Jarvis was living in South Carolina at the time his pension was issued, his application indicates that he lived in Morgan County, Georgia, at some time after his service. His pension began on March 4, 1831, but he did not receive funds until October 23, 1833. He was to be paid twenty dollars per year for his service. The note on the left side indicates Mr. Jarvis passed away in September 1837. Courtesy of the Henry Walton Chapter, NSDAR, Madison, Georgia.
