Revolutionary War Pension Certificate for William Akins
This Certificate of Pension states that William Akins served in the North Carolina company commanded by Captain Sharp, under Colonel Alexander. Mr. Akins was listed as living in Morgan County in July, 1833, when his pension was issued and sent to J.W. Porter, Clerk, Madison, Georgia. Mr. Akins was to be paid $179.99 per year for his service. Notes on the left side of the paper indicate that the money was sent to Alabama in later years, and the state has been struck through and changed to Huntsville, Alabama, at the top.
