Grayson White with F89 fighter
An undated photo of Grayson White, standing next to his F89 fighter. He is the son of Fred and Grace White of Park's Mill. Mr. White joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and earned his pilot's wings in 1953. He was stationed at several U.S. air bases, as well as Japan, before the start of the Vietnam War, where he flew 220 combat missions. He was awarded several military honors, including the Purple Heart. Major White retired from the military in 1970.
