"Rutledge had two grocery stores on the main street and I remember my mother would send me to Rutledge to get some groceries. And she’d just make out a list, I’d just hand it to the grocer and I didn’t take any money because we had a charge account there. So, that’s how the grocery shopping was back then. I’d go over to the drugstore and get me a cherry coke while the groceries were being filled."
